Volume XXII – Nature. Human activity. Lover silesia
The theme treads presented in the seminar between 2018 and 2019 address various areas of nature and human activity throughout centuries and the geological structure, history, and landmarks of Lower Silesia.
The first chapter begins with the reflection on the final stages of stellar evolution – from white dwarfs to black holes. Next is the discussion on the physical principles of optics, the wave-particle duality of light, and the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter. As it goes forward with the evolutionary development of the Earth, we come across a molecular glimmer of life preserved in the organic matter of sedimentary rocks.
The second chapter presents certain aspects of human activity and the works created by humans throughout millennia. This chapter touches upon outstanding works of ancient culture, the “Wonders of the World” typical for the civilizations of the Mediterranean basin and Asia Minor, and the inter influence of the cultures of these regions.
The last chapter is devoted to the geological structure, history, and selected landmarks of Lower Silesia.
