Offering art history classes for high school students

The Institute of Art History at the University of Wrocław offers full-time popular science classes for Lower Silesian high school students, but also their friends and parents, interested in art and its development over the centuries. The classes will be conducted by the institute’s academic staff – excellent specialists in their fields, with extensive didactic experience.

Classes will be held once a month on Saturdays, in the learning spaces of the Institute of Art History, or out in the field, at selected sites or museums in Wrocław.

The first lecture will be held on Saturday, November 19, at 12:00 pm. at the Institute of Art History, ul. Szewska 36, 3rd floor, room 309.

The topic of the meeting to be led by dr Jakub Zarzycki is “Henryk Siemiradzki in Rome, or how to paint antiquity.”

December 2022 – dr Joanna Lubos-Kozieł, “Postcards as (small) works of art.”

January 2023 – dr Agnieszka Patała, “Medieval sculpture in Wrocław.”

February 2023 – dr Agnieszka Seidel-Grzesińska, “History of art in the age of computerisation.”

March 2023 – dr Marek Kwaśny, “As strange as the Baroque.”

April 2023 – prof. Romuald Kaczmarek, “Wrocław Town Hall.”

May 2023 – dr Marcin Wisłocki, “Art in the face of death.”

June 2023 – prof. Andrzej Kozieł, “Secrets of the Old Masters craftsmanship.”

The exact dates and places of the meetings will be announced in advance.
