
Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences
The Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences is composed of seven institutes and one chair, in which full-time and part-time first-cycle and second-cycle studies are conducted, as well as postgraduate and doctoral studies. The faculty educates students in the following fields: history, pedagogy, special pedagogy, pedagogy – early childhood and pre-school education, psychology, history of art, archaeology, cultural studies, musicology, ethnology, history in public space, material culture heritage – protection, promotion and management, military studies. Historical and pedagogical research are combined here in one extensive conglomerate. Interdisciplinarity is the basis for development, and the excellent staff is responsible for the establishment of many research schools in the fields practised at the Faculty. More than 80 professors and post-doctoral fellows and almost 200 PhDs work here. In 2018, by the decision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences of the University of Wrocław was awarded the prestigious A category. The popularity of the faculties conducted at the Faculty is evidenced by more than six thousand students and several hundred doctoral students gaining their education here. A large number of scientific associations are active here, organising conferences and symposia and conducting their own research.
