US News 2022- 2023 Best Global Universities Rankings
On the 24th of October, the results of US News 2022-2023 Best Global Universities Rankings have been published.
The American ranking assesses universities from the USA and over 95 other countries. It is one of the four most important international rankings besides ShanghaiRanking, Times Higher Education WUR and QS.
The ranking takes the results of research of universities (publications, citations, conferences, international academic cooperation), and their reputation in the region and the world. In the latest ranking, 2000 universities have been assessed.
The ranking is generated automatically, so universities do not send in the data themselves, as it is collected from the Web of Science database.
The University of Wrocław attained the rank of:
1022 in the Best Global Universities ranking.
395 in the Best Global Universities in Europe ranking.
8 in the Best Global Universities in Poland ranking.
In Poland, Jagiellonian University earned first place, while the University of Warsaw and Warsaw University of Technology earned second and third place, respectively. The University of Wrocław is ranked fifth among Polish classical universities. When it comes to the highest ranked fields of study at the UWr, in the US News by Subject ranking physics earned the 477th place (17 spots higher, 6th spot in Poland), followed by biological sciences – 491st spot (4th among Polish universities) and chemistry – 554th spot (6th in Poland).
