
What still needs to be done?
At the end of 2017, the comprehensive multistage restoration of Aula Leopoldine (the Leopoldine Hall) has covered one-third of the planned activities. For technological reasons, further work should be continued without major breaks. These are the elements that still require renovation:
WITHIN THE MATRONEUM
- frescoes under the gallery, which depict an orchestra of angels PLN 187 000
- walls under the gallery PLN 99 000
- pews and the platform under the gallery PLN 180 000
- cartouche with a gilded inscription PLN 24 000
- mouldings under the gallery PLN 58 000
- side walls without frescoes PLN 29 000
Total: PLN 577 000 zł
WITHIN THE AUDITORIUM
- oil paintings PLN 25 000
- frames of the paintings PLN 160 000
- pews and the platform in the auditorium PLN 220 000
- lodges PLN 280 000
- platforms along the side walls and window sills PLN 100 000
- the stone floor PLN 170 000
- cartouches above the windows PLN 190 000
- marbled cornices between the windows PLN 146 000
- frescoes in the window niches PLN 385 000
- the central fresco on the vault of the auditorium 1 586 000
Total: PLN 3 262 000
The motion for funding the restoration of ten polychromies of the window niches within the auditorium as well as the walls, the soffit and the historical furnishing below the gallery has been submitted to the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
