    International team of scientists, including dr hab. Adrian Marciszek, prof. UWr from the Department of Paleozoology, researched the habitat and morphology of Pleistocene leopard Panthera pardus, which in the past lived throughout Europe from the Iberian Peninsula to the Jelenia Góra Valley.

    Further projects from the staff of the University of Wrocław acknowledged in the Arqus Innovation Fund – Call 2025

    On 17 May, student volunteers involved in organising the scientific conference series Horizon Mars took part in a trip to Białków (Wińsko municipality), home to the Centre for Astronomical Education of the University of Wrocław. A total of 21 participants joined the excursion, which served both as a token of appreciation for their dedication to the conference and an opportunity to explore the wonders of the cosmos together.

    Contrary to the common understanding of a “barbarian” as a primitive and brutal individual, in archaeology the term carries no negative connotations. It was borrowed from Roman historians, who used it to describe peoples living outside the Roman Empire and not speaking Latin.

    On 20-21 May, students from the University of Wrocław carried out field research as part of an international project funded by the ARQUS Innovation Fund. The project, titled Proximity matters: transdisciplinary joint teaching activities to foster collaborative networks between local food producers and tourism/leisure entrepreneurs, under sustainable development and climate change prismas, is being jointly implemented by five universities belonging to the ARQUS European University Alliance. The project focuses on the readiness and adaptability of food-producing entities in the face of climate change.

    As part of the University Career Festival, the 10th edition of #BEZPIECZNIE UWr 2025 will take place.     On Saturday, 24 May, the Wrocław community gathered on Xawery Dunikowski Boulevard to mark the conclusion of the four-day Odra Days celebrations. A family picnic was organised, featuring culinary demonstrations by Mateusz Zielonka, winner of the 6th edition of MasterChef, and Adrian Stojewski, finalist of the World Paella Championships. Attendees enjoyed concerts, a parade of watercraft, and the opportunity to take a free boat trip on the River Odra.
