UL: Competitions and prizes
The 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to a South Korean writer, Han Kang. Dr Hae Sung Lee from the Korean team at the Institute of Classical, Mediterranean and Oriental Studies believes this is a sign that Korea is transforming from a cultural power into a truly culturally rich nation. Dr Jan B. Klakla from the Centre for Legal Education and Social Theory at the University of Wrocław and the Centre for Social and Economic Research (CASE) in Warsaw was awarded the main prize in the competition for the best doctoral thesis in legal theory and philosophy organised by the Association for Philosophy of Law and
Social Philosophy – Polish Section IVR.
Prof. Krzysztof Ruchniewicz, a member of the Historical Institute and Director of the Willy Brandt Centre for German and European Studies, was nominated on 19 September by the Deputy Minister Marek Prawda as a member of the Committee for the ‘Award for Special Services to the Development of Polish-German Relations’.

The competition for temporary motivational allowances is open to academic teachers from all units of the University of Wrocław.
