UL: Competitions and prizes

    The 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to a South Korean writer, Han Kang. Dr Hae Sung Lee from the Korean team at the Institute of Classical, Mediterranean and Oriental Studies believes this is a sign that Korea is transforming from a cultural power into a truly culturally rich nation.     Dr Jan B. Klakla from the Centre for Legal Education and Social Theory at the University of Wrocław and the Centre for Social and Economic Research (CASE) in Warsaw was awarded the main prize in the competition for the best doctoral thesis in legal theory and philosophy organised by the Association for Philosophy of Law and
    Social Philosophy – Polish Section IVR.

    Young Researcher Competition launched

    Prof. Krzysztof Ruchniewicz, a member of the Historical Institute and Director of the Willy Brandt Centre for German and European Studies, was nominated on 19 September by the Deputy Minister Marek Prawda as a member of the Committee for the ‘Award for Special Services to the Development of Polish-German Relations’.

    Dr Barbara Jasiulis-Gołdyn, assistant professor at the Institute of Mathematics of the University of Wrocław, received the Smart Growth Leader Award.

    Dr hab. Dorota Michułka, prof. of the UWr from the Institute of Polish Studies, will conduct a research project in collaboration with German researchers thanks to a Weave-UNISONO grant. The Polish team will receive support of more than PLN 422 000.

    Thanks to the funding of additional research projects in the OPUS 25, PRELUDIUM 22, MAESTRO 15 and SONATA BIS 13 competitions, the number of laureates in these competitions increased from 452 to 774 researchers.

    Thanks to the funding of additional research projects in the OPUS 25, PRELUDIUM 22, MAESTRO 15 and SONATA BIS 13 competitions, the number of winners of these competitions increased from 452 to 774 researchers.

    The Minister of Science awarded scholarships to 228 outstanding young scientists representing 53 scientific and artistic disciplines.

    The competition for temporary motivational allowances is open to academic teachers from all units of the University of Wrocław. There have already been 3 editions of this competition, in which a total of 150 allowances are awarded each year.
