    From March 24 to 26, staff from international offices and ARQUS offices from partner universities are taking part in intensive workshops dedicated to communication, intercultural collaboration, and effective work in an international and digital environment. The workshops combine theoretical parts with practical exercises and participants’ integration.

    What a thrilling event it was! On Friday, March 20, two teams met at the university sports hall – the prorectors, deans, and professors of the University of Wrocław, and a team from the Institute of Political Science at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

    Let’s talk about maths

    We know the names of students who have been awarded scholarships by the Minister of Science and Higher Education (for academic year 2025/2026). The Minister granted 402 scholarships from 1171 applications for significant scientific, artistic, or sports achievements. Our best students received the scholarships, representing almost all scientific and artistic disciplines (48 out of 55).

    Plants across Europe are responding to climate warming—high mountain areas are rapidly losing species adapted to lower temperatures, while there is an increasing share of warm-adapted species in forests and grasslands. Unfortunately, these findings are not encouraging. The study, recently published in “Nature”, provides the most comprehensive Europe-wide comparison to date of how different ecosystems respond to climate change.

    Professor Helena Duffy from the Department of French Literature and Culture at the University of Wrocław has been awarded the prestigious Käte Hamburger Fellowship for her interdisciplinary research project “Embodied Trauma Beyond the Human: Reparative Potential of Holocaust Literature”. Professor Helena Duffy will conduct her research at the CURE Research Centre (Cultural Practices of Reparation) at Saarland University in Germany during the upcoming academic year.
