    The Council of Young Scientists of the ninth term was appointed on 24 February 2026 for the period from 1 March 2026 to 29 February 2028. We are pleased to announce that our PhD student Kacper Rosner-Leszczyński from the Historical Institute at the University of Wrocław, is a member of the Council.

    After great interest in the first edition in 2025, the Library of the University of Wrocław once again opens its doors for lovers of books, history, and culture! The second edition of „NIE!straszna Biblioteka 2.0” (The Not-So-Scary-Library 2.0) will take place in 2026. It is oriented towards high school students. This event aims to demystify the image of a library as a quiet and serious place and to show it as an open, friendly, passionate, and inspirational space.

    For several years now, the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław has been open to visitors during the winter months. From January to March it is also open at weekends, allowing guests to explore its rich greenhouse collections more extensively.

    The Wrocław Branch of the Polish Biochemical Society has elected its authorities for the 2026–2029 term. The Chair of the Branch is prof. dr hab. Aleksander Czogalla, a scientist from the Faculty of Biotechnology at the University of Wrocław (Department of Cytobiochemistry).

    Staff of the Kazimierz Maślankiewicz Mineralogical Museum of the University of Wrocław invite you to the opening of the exhibition Fruits of the “Rare Earths”, where visitors will be able to see sculptures and macrophotographs by Janina Kudlaszyk-Wrotnowska and Albert Wrotnowski. The event will take place on 26 February at 5.00 p.m. at the Museum’s branch at ul. Kuźnicza 22.

    The Day of Polish Science was established in 2020, and the day – 19th of February – was chosen because it is Mikołaj Kopernik’s birthday. The culmination of this holiday was the Gala of Polish Science, held on February 20th at the Polish Theatre in Warsaw, during which scholars from the University of Wroclaw were commended with prestigious Minister of Science and Higher Education awards. Prizes were awarded for achievements in scientific, educational, implemental, organizational work, and overall achievements.

    On Thursday, 19 February, the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Wrocław hosted the 3rd Wrocław Luminescence Seminar (WSL). The event brought together experts in electron spectroscopy and young researchers from three key institutions: the University of Wrocław, Wrocław University of Science and Technology, and the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
