On behalf of the prorector for international cooperation, dr hab. Patrycja Matusz, professor of the University of Wrocław, we are pleased to announce that our university, as the project leader of the “Lower Silesian EURAXESS Network,” has received funding under the NAWA-EURAXESS Network programme. The project is carried out in cooperation with Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences, Wroclaw Medical University, and the Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

A team of researchers from the Institute of Geography and Regional Development (University of Wrocław) and the Technical University of Munich has published pioneering results in the Journal of Hydrology, using data from the new SWOT (Surface Water and Ocean Topography) satellite mission. The developed method, Reach-Reg, makes it possible to track river water levels almost anywhere in the world, even in areas without overground measurement stations. The study was conducted during dr Michał Halicki’s postdoctoral fellowship, funded by the NAWA Bekker programme.
On March 19-20, 2026, the 16th Paleolimnological Session titled “Methods of reconstructing lake and peat moor environments” was held at the Institute of Geological Sciences. The main organizers were the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Environmental Management of the University of Wrocław, the Polish Limnological Society, the Polish Quaternary Union (POLQUA), and the Committee for Quaternary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
From March 24 to 26, staff from international offices and ARQUS offices from partner universities are taking part in intensive workshops dedicated to communication, intercultural collaboration, and effective work in an international and digital environment. The workshops combine theoretical parts with practical exercises and participants’ integration.
