This marks a symbolic moment opening the implementation phase of research into new oncology therapies under the PACMAN project. On 28 January 2026, at Łukasiewicz – PORT in Wrocław, a funding agreement was signed for the winning project of the fourth edition of the Virtual Research Institute competition.
Three of our students, Natalia Zdziarska, Filip Szymański and Igor Jasiński, became members of the select team of six, which is to represent Poland in EU project ConSIMium. Qualified in the process of multistage recruitment, including the selection process carried by the university, the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities and the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, they were chosen to participate in the European Council simulation. At the beginning of February, they will head to Brussels, where they are going to face the challenges of European diplomacy and decision-making process.

The University of Wrocław has moved up by more than 30 places in the third edition of the QS World University Rankings: Europe. In the ranking published on 28 January, our University placed 281st among the best higher education institutions in Europe. In Central and Eastern Europe, we rose to 17th place. In Poland, according to QS WUR Europe 2026, we are the fifth-best higher education institution and the fourth-best university.
