                                                                On Monday, 20 October at 4:00 p.m., the SKNR WroSlawianie from the Institute of Slavic Studies, together with the co-organisers – the Centre for Culture and Arts, the UWr International Office and the UWr Office for Student and Doctoral Activities – invite you to the 6th edition of the “Melodies of Three Generations” concert.
                                
                                                                Adam Mickiewicz Secondary School No. III in Wrocław and the University of Wrocław are beginning an official cooperation, which will open new possibilities for students’ development. It is yet another proof that science and education go hand in hand in our city, and that the academic potential of the university connects with the passion and ambition of youth.
                                
                                                                In October, the Institute of Romance Studies will host Prof. Renaud Bret-Vitoz from Sorbonne Université (France) as part of the Excellence Initiative – Research University (IDUB) programme. Prof. Bret-Vitoz is a distinguished specialist in 18th-century French literature and theatre. During his visit, he will give two open lectures focusing on Enlightenment drama, particularly the works of Voltaire and the theatrical context of the 18th century.
                                
                                                                Student initiatives from the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics and the Institute of Archaeology at the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences have received funding under the project “Wsparcie studentów w zakresie podniesienia ich kompetencji i umiejętności”, organised by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education within the framework of the European Funds for Social Development Programme 2021–2027.

                                                                Secondary School No. III (Liceum Ogólnokształcące nr III) and the University of Wrocław are beginning a collaboration that opens up new opportunities for pupils’ academic and personal development. This initiative is yet another example of combining the academic potential of the university with the energy and ambition of Wrocław’s youth. A press conference announcing the partnership will take place on 10 October at 12:00 p.m. in the Senate Hall of the University of Wrocław.
                                
                                                                From 4 to 6 November 2025 of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław will host Dr Juan García Blesa from the University of Hagen (Germany), who will visit our university under the Visiting Professors IDUB programme. Dr García Blesa is a recognised scholar in the fields of critical theory of international law, legal research methodology, and the relationship between culture and law.
                                
                                                                The University of Wrocław, as in the previous year, has been placed in the 1201–1500 band of the world’s best universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, announced on 9 October 2025. The University’s strongest indicators are Research Environment, in which it ranks 830th globally, and Teaching, where it holds 900th place worldwide.
                                
                                                                From 19 to 22 October, the Centre for Research on the Ancient World at the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences will host Professor Julien Faguer from Université Paris Nanterre. The visit, organised at the invitation of dr Dominika Grzesik, is funded under the IDUB project’s “Visiting Professors” programme. Professor Faguer is the author of numerous publications devoted to the epigraphic culture and economy of ancient Greece, and has taken part in and led archaeological missions in Delphi and Delos.

                                                                The Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures invites to an open lecture by Dr Guillermo Sánchez Ungidos (Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha), held as part of the IDUB programme. The lecture, entitled Keep it cute, manito: Poetry and cultural identity in Spanish and Latin urban music, will take place on 21 October 2025 (Tuesday) at 17:30 at the Institute of Romance Studies (pl. Nankiera 4, Room 4.8, Wrocław).
