The Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław invites you to an online lecture titled ‘One event, many stories – Jerusalem 1099’ on 5 March at 6 p.m., which will be given by dr Tomasz Pełech from the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The Climate Days of the Wrocław Academic Community 2026 is an interdisciplinary scientific and educational event that will take place on 19-21 March 2026 in Wrocław. The initiative brings together the academic community and citizens, creating a space for discussion about climate challenges and practical solutions that support climate transformation and resilience.

The next edition of Roman Studies Week, a nationwide series of online lectures devoted to the languages, literatures and cultures of Romance countries, will take place on 16-22 March.

One of the lecturers of the extracurricular course ‘Your Future Skills’ is Anna Cieślik – a graduate of psychology at the University of Wrocław, lecturer, trainer and founder of  ‘Pracownia Rozwoju’ (Development Workshop). Her classes as a part of the extracurricular course are a unique opportunity to work on mental resilience, emotion management, motivation and communication under the guidance of an experienced specialist.

Passengers on Wrocław’s MPK will be able to turn their daily commute to school, work, or shopping into a real journey through time. An educative campaign marking the Women’s History Month is currently being launched by a team led by dr Dorota Wiśniewska, assistant professor at the Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław, in cooperation with the Public Transport Company in Wrocław.

An Egyptian mummy of a boy is an object of scientific research. It is known how old the boy was and where he came from. The cause of death remains a mystery. The research team includes prof. Agata Kubala from the Institute of Art History. 

On 10-12 February 2026, the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław hosted the MOFebruary 2026 Symposium, focused on research into porous materials, including MOFs (eng. Metal-Organic Frameworks). The event was a gesture of recognition by the Polish scientific community towards the winners of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry: Richard Robson, Omar Yaghi, and Susumu Kitagawa. The initiative to integrate the Polish MOF community was met with an enthusiastic response from many scientists – over 70 participants representing numerous universities and research institutes from Poland and abroad took part in the symposium.

On 25 February 2026, the Senate of the University of Wrocław resolved to confer the title of Doctor Honoris Causa upon the outstanding writer, poet, essayist, translator, musician and social activist Serhiy Zhadan, widely regarded as one of the most important witnesses of his time and one of the moral consciences of contemporary Ukraine.

The Council of Young Scientists of the ninth term was appointed on 24 February 2026 for the period from 1 March 2026 to 29 February 2028. The second edition of „NIE!straszna Biblioteka 2.0” (The Not-So-Scary-Library 2.0) will take place in 2026. It is oriented towards high school students. This event aims to demystify the image of a library as a quiet and serious place and to show it as an open, friendly, passionate, and inspirational space.
